WE SET THE LASER CUTTER ABLAZE, AND IT CONTAINS THE FIRE ENOUGH TO BURN OUT

We stack four pieces of polypropylene within the laser bed and light its edge on fire. Once the lid closes, a thin layer of gauze is placed atop the laser. No visible marks, burn, or charring to the gauze is acceptable; the fire must withstand at least eight hours and/or burn itself out.

THE MACHINE IS ZAPPED WITH 20,000 VOLTS, AND IT'S STILL SAFE TO TOUCH

We hook up a power source to the power cord and send 1,000V - 8x the standard operating voltage - through each laser cutter to ensure our electrical design is robust enough to eliminate potential shock hazard. Special attention is paid to any components that are more likely to conduct electricity, such as the metal housing or screws.

A HOSE FLOODS THE MACHINE TO TRIGGER AN IMMEDIATE SHUT-OFF

We poke a hole in the water tube nearest the power supply to allow water to spray. The GFCI (similar to the device on a hairdryer or outlets in bathrooms and kitchens) measures the electricity flow and, if out of balance, will immediately shut off laser to ensure elimination of shock hazard risk.

We work with third party toxicologists to test and analyze the machine’s emitted chemicals for a number of the most commonly used and approved laser materials. The main goal is to minimize consumer exposure to harmful emissions.

While palletized, several tests are performed to ensure your laser arrives to your doorstep in top shape. We crush the machine under 1728 lbs, slam it against the wall four times at 42”/sec and drop it on its edges four times from 8” high. We also leave it in 100 degrees at 85 percent relative humidity for three days.

We drop a 2 lb, 55mm steel ball in the center of the lid from four feet (1.2 meters) high to ensure its robust housing will not be damaged.
